Learn how to knit the fluffy, soft and lovely Marilyn's Cardigan
The super popular Marilyn sweater inspired Linda from Sunday Knitting Club to knit a cardigan for the Marilyn series that would be just as stunning as the sweater model. This elegant and stylish cardigan has a classic design, a V-neck and is in a class of its own - just like Marilyn!
The cardigan is knitted from the top down. It has a European shoulder strap, a hollow button placket and a beautiful fit. The model in the pictures is knitted with the same fluffy soft yarn as the Marilyn shirt. Fonty Coeur d'Angora yarn has a uniquely soft surface and a straight, long pile, which gives the cardigan a unique look. If you want to make your own cardigan with another yarn option, you can get several different recommended options from Sunday Knitting Club.
In the course you will learn, among other things, how to:
- Knitting a sweater with a European shoulder line
- Adding loops in different directions
- Creating a V-neckline on a cardigan
- Pick up the stitches from the edges of the knitting so that the edge becomes neat.
- We bind off the stitches in the Italian way to make the hem and cuffs neat.
- Finishing and maintaining the knitwear
The course is also a unique opportunity to meet other enthusiastic knitters and make new friends. The designer is present at all course sessions to guide you through difficult points and help you learn techniques.
You will need:
- You will receive advance information about the yarns suitable for the cardigan before the course.
- Basic knitter's tools: stitch markers, measuring tape, threading needle, stitch cables, scissors, etc.
The course is suitable for: Beginner+/intermediate knitters. You know how to knit and purl and you know how to create stitches at the beginning of a knit. You may have already knitted your first sweater and want to learn how to knit a top. You are eager to learn new things and develop as a knitter. Please note that the pattern is written for right-handed knitters.

The course will be held on three Wednesdays:

The course price includes:
- 3 lessons at the Liisankatu store (total of 6 hours of supervised instruction)
- Marilyn's Cardigan with printed pattern in Finnish (€9.90)
